About Us

How it began....

Red Skye is a collaboration of Mark and Betty Christopulos.  After ten years of producing
acclaimed homemade wines together, and continued coaxing from our friends and family,
we finally decided to make our dream a reality.  So, as a result of several months of planning
and organizing, in April of 2004, the dream was launched.  

Mark’s family has been home winemakers for generations.  His Mediterranean roots have
helped provide the inspiration, along with the stories of his immigrant grandfather “rolling out
the oak barrel” on special family gatherings.  Our vision is to simply to create great wines,
and bring them to wine fans in a way that is easily understood--we see a real need for
outstanding wines that are also highly approachable.  Fine wine consumers are looking for
something that is critically acclaimed, yet is great to drink and easily paired with favorite
dishes—and doesn’t carry a restrictive price tag.  Red Skye is the answer!

Latest announcements....

Our premier product release was in April 2004, consisting of three distinct varietals — a
2002 Chardonnay from Russian River, a 2001 Merlot from Russian River, and a 2001
Syrah from Santa Barbara.  Since the initial release, our wines have received critical
acclaim--taking numerous medals in state and international competitions.  Our plan is to
expand our offerings to include outstanding wines from other regions, including the
Livermore valley.  Look for our upcoming releases to feature more unusual varietals,
including a few Mediterranean styles!
